These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the website sentel.net, the Sentel customer portal, the Sentel API, and the Sentel cyber threat intelligence platform, whether hosted by Sentel or deployed on your own infrastructure, including the Sentel Agent and the Aegis security analyst (together, the "Services"). The Services are operated by Sentel ("Sentel", "we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it, and "you" refers to that organization. If your organization has signed a separate agreement with Sentel, that agreement takes precedence over these Terms where the two differ.

Accounts and Access

  • The Services are intended for business use by organizations and their authorized personnel. You must provide accurate information when you request access, register for an API key, or are provisioned an account.
  • You are responsible for the users you invite, the roles and permissions you assign to them, and all activity under your accounts and API keys. Keep credentials and API keys confidential, use multi-factor authentication where it is available, and do not share accounts.
  • Notify us promptly at support@sentel.net if you suspect unauthorized access to your accounts, API keys, or license keys.

Subscriptions, Licenses and Fees

Access to the platform is provided under a subscription or license. The modules, number of endpoints or users, term, fees, and payment terms are set out in your order or agreement with Sentel. License keys are issued for a specific deployment and may not be shared, transferred, or used to operate additional instances. We may suspend access if fees remain unpaid after notice.

Cloud and On-Premises Deployments

  • Cloud. When Sentel hosts your instance, we are responsible for operating the underlying infrastructure.
  • On-premises. When you deploy the platform on your own infrastructure, you are responsible for the servers, operating system, network, backups, and physical and logical access to them. The platform needs to communicate with Sentel for license validation, health monitoring, software updates, and threat intelligence lookups, and some features will not work without that connectivity.

Acceptable Use

The Services are provided for lawful, defensive security purposes. You agree that you will not, and will not allow others to:

  • Monitor, collect data from, or take action on systems, networks, or devices that you do not own or are not authorized to manage;
  • Use the network utilities (such as DNS, WHOIS, ping, traceroute, HTTP header, and TLS certificate checks) to attack, disrupt, or scan third-party systems without authorization, or at a volume intended to degrade them;
  • Use leaked credential, infostealer, or dark web intelligence for any purpose other than protecting your own organization and its users, including attempting to sign in with exposed credentials or contacting the individuals concerned other than to protect them;
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Services or Sentel threat intelligence, or use them to build a competing product, except as permitted in your agreement;
  • Copy, modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the software, or bypass license checks, rate limits, or other technical restrictions;
  • Probe, scan, or test the security of the Services without our prior written consent, or interfere with their operation;
  • Use the Services in violation of any applicable law, including privacy, employee monitoring, and export control laws.

Endpoint Agent and Response Actions

The Sentel Agent runs with administrative privileges on the devices where you install it. It collects security telemetry such as process, network, DNS, and software inventory information, and it can carry out response actions that your authorized users initiate, including network isolation, IP blocking, application blocking, remote shell and remote desktop sessions, file transfers, and software installation and updates.

  • Install the agent only on devices you own or are authorized to manage, and give device users any notice or obtain any consent that applicable law requires.
  • Response actions can interrupt users, applications, and network connectivity. You are responsible for the actions your users initiate and for configuring access policies and approvals appropriate to your environment.

Automated Blocking and Firewall Integrations

The platform can publish blocklists for your firewalls and other security controls and, where you enable it, add indicators to them automatically. Threat indicators can occasionally match legitimate infrastructure. You decide whether to enable automated blocking and how your devices consume the feeds, and you should review blocked entries regularly.

Threat Intelligence and Third-Party Data

Sentel threat intelligence combines our own research with data from open sources, public vulnerability databases, commercial and community feeds, and monitoring of criminal forums, leak sites, and similar sources. It is provided to support your security decisions. Threat information changes quickly and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate, and attribution to threat actors is an assessment, not a certainty. Some intelligence, such as ransomware leak site captures, may contain information about third parties; handle it confidentially and do not republish it. Data obtained from third parties may also be subject to those providers' own terms.

AI Features

Aegis and other AI-assisted features generate summaries, verdicts, and recommendations from the data available to them, and may rely on third-party AI model providers. AI output can be wrong or incomplete, so review it before you act on it. Commands that Aegis proposes on an endpoint run only after one of your analysts approves them, and you are responsible for the commands you approve.

Your Data

You retain all rights in the data you or your devices submit to the Services, including logs, telemetry, and configuration ("Customer Data"). You grant Sentel the rights needed to host, process, and transmit Customer Data to provide, secure, and support the Services. You are responsible for having the rights and notices required to collect Customer Data and to share it with us. We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy and in any data processing terms agreed with you.

Intellectual Property

Sentel and its licensors own the Services, including the software, the Sentel Agent, threat intelligence compilations, documentation, and the Sentel name and logos. Subject to these Terms and your agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services for your internal security operations during your subscription. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

Confidentiality

Each party will protect the other's non-public information received through the Services with reasonable care and use it only for the purposes of the relationship. This does not apply to information that is public, already known to the receiving party, independently developed, or that must be disclosed by law.

Security, Availability and Updates

We protect the Services with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, and we operate an information security management system certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (see Compliance). We aim to keep the Services available, but they may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control, and no service level applies unless your agreement includes one. We may update the platform and the Sentel Agent, including automatically, to fix defects, address security issues, or improve features.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or restrict access if you breach these Terms, if your use creates a security risk to the Services or others, if fees remain unpaid, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we will give notice first. When your subscription ends, your right to use the Services ends and you should uninstall the Sentel Agent from your devices. On request made within a reasonable period, we will help you export Customer Data held in a Sentel-hosted instance, after which it may be deleted, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Disclaimer

Security is a shared responsibility. No product can detect or prevent every threat, and the Services do not replace your own security controls, policies, and judgment. Except as expressly stated in your agreement, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available", and to the extent permitted by law Sentel disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Sentel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from the Services. Sentel's total liability for all claims relating to the Services will not exceed the fees you paid to Sentel for the Services in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Sentel against third-party claims arising from your breach of these Terms, from Customer Data, or from monitoring or actions you carry out through the Services without the necessary authorization.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kuwait. The courts of Kuwait have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, unless your agreement with Sentel provides otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Services where appropriate. Continuing to use the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
